Connecting Women in Agriculture

Women Grow the Farm is a comprehensive program to connect women involved in the many aspects of agriculture. The annual conference provides valuable tools and materials to address production, price, human, financial, and legal risks of farm women at all levels.

This project increases overall support through:

  • Comprehensive training

  • Area networks of support

  • An online discussion group

The project builds on the understanding that:

  • Farm women play an active role in all aspects of financial and risk management.

  • Changing farm dynamics and economics affect both the farm operation and the household.

  • These changes lead to evolving roles for women on the farm today.

THE GOAL

This project is to prepare modern farm women with resources to enable them to utilize and manage their farm interests effectively. The project helps farm women to be successfully prepared to participate in multiple farm roles by having the training, risk management tools, and professional resources available to them.

Our History

Since 2006 – Women Managing the Farm has brought together women from every corner of agriculture for an annual multi-day conference filled with learning, networking, and inspiration. What started as a way to equip women with essential skills has grown into one of the most respected events of its kind.

2024 – The conference welcomed standout keynote speakers like Mark Mayfield and Kim Bremmer, along with dozens of breakout sessions designed to address the real challenges—and opportunities—facing women in agriculture today.

2025 – We celebrate our 21st conference on February 13–14 in Manhattan, Kansas, continuing our tradition of combining credible, research-based education with a welcoming, supportive community.

Looking Ahead to 2026 – The next conference is already on the calendar for February 12–13 at the Hilton Garden Inn Conference Center in Manhattan, Kansas. Planning is underway, and we can’t wait to welcome both new and returning attendees.
